This course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the scientific study of language. The content of the Fall semester will cover traditional analysis of language data, including morphology, syntax, semantics, phonetics and phonology. In the Spring semester, we will look at how other fields, such as psychology, neuroscience and information technology, contribute to our understanding of human language system.
